Part-Time Caretaker Required
Parteen National School is seeking to appoint a part-time caretaker to support the maintenance and upkeep of the school grounds and premises.
The position will involve morning hours, with the exact working pattern to be agreed with the successful candidate. The role will be paid at an hourly rate.
Duties will include:
General maintenance and minor repairs throughout the school premises
Carrying out minor painting and decorating work, as required
Addressing minor plumbing issues, where appropriate, and reporting or arranging professional assistance for more significant repairs
Putting out and bringing in bins
Maintaining the school grounds and outdoor areas
Hedge cutting, weeding and general gardening duties
Liaising with third-party suppliers, contractors and tradespeople, as required, and facilitating access to the school premises
Monitoring the premises and reporting any maintenance, health and safety or security concerns
Carrying out other reasonable caretaking duties that may arise from time to time
The successful candidate should be dependable, organised and capable of working independently. Previous experience in maintenance, gardening or a similar caretaking role would be an advantage.
The appointment will be subject to satisfactory references and Garda vetting.
