Next Generation EU Funded Project

Our school received a grant in 2021 to implement initiatives aimed at addressing the digital divide and support our learners at risk of educational disadvantage as a consequence, as part of the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), a project under the Recovery and Resilience Facility funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU.

This funding was used to purchase iPads to support children with additional needs, enabling them to access a range of educational apps designed to enhance engagement, support literacy and numeracy development, and facilitate differentiated learning. The devices are used particularly in special education settings to help ensure that all learners can participate fully in digital learning opportunities. The school also invested in LEGO WeDo kits, which allow students to engage in hands-on STEM and coding activities, promoting problem-solving, collaboration, and creativity in a structured and inclusive way. Additionally, part of the grant was allocated to upgrading our classroom Wi-Fi infrastructure to ensure reliable digital access for all learners.
